In a mixing bowl, add warm water, sugar, and yeast, and mix. Let the yeast ferment for about 5 minutes.
In another bowl, combine flour, turmeric, salt, sugar, fresh coriander, and julienned carrots.
Add half of the water mixture into the flour along with 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
Combine everything until you have a sticky dough, then knead with hands for about 10 minutes.
Incorporate room temperature margarine or butter into the dough and knead until fully mixed.
Oil a container and place the dough inside, ensuring it's oiled all over. Let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes to an hour until doubled in size.
Decide whether to steam the dough separately or in a stew. If in a stew, braise or simmer the dumplings for about 45 minutes to an hour.
