Sarma, a beloved dish in Croatia, consists of fermented cabbage leaves stuffed with a savory mixture of meat and rice. Traditionally enjoyed during winter months and festive occasions, it symbolizes warmth and togetherness. Today, variations of sarma can be found across the Balkans, each with its unique twist, reflecting local ingredients and preferences.

1 Soured Cabbage Head (about 1 kg)
200 g Rice
200 g Soya Granules
3 Garlic cloves
2 Onions
1/2 tsp dried Basil
1 tsp ground Black Pepper
1 tsp dried Parsley Leaves
2 Bay Leaves
2 tsp Paprika powder
2 tsp Himalayan Salt
100 ml Oil
500 ml Water

Put the Rice to cook

Peel the Onion and Garlic then chop them

In the bowl with the Soya Granules add the spices: Paprika Powder, Salt, Black Pepper, Basil, Parsley and on the end add Water on Soya Granules to soak it up

Stir the Oil in the frying pot

Add the Onion and the Garlic

Then add the cooked and drained Rice

When the onion is fried, add the seasoned Soy Granules and mix it all well together and let it cool

Remove the soured Cabbage Leaves one by one

Put the mixture into the Cabbage Leaf and wrap it carefully

Place stuffed Cabbage Rolls in the Cooking Pot

Turn on the Stove at medium temperature

Pour sufficient Water to cover the amount of Cooking Pot

Add bay leaf, cover and cook for 45 minutes until Cabbage softens
