1 pickled cabbage head
120 g round rice
½ tsp savory
500 g pork and beef mince
250 ml sauerkraut juice
1 tsp paprika
150 g sliced smoked bacon
50 g butter
1 onion
1 clove of garlic
Sunflower oil
Salt

Prepare the pickled cabbage by removing the leaves carefully.

In a pan, heat some sunflower oil and sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until translucent.

In a bowl, combine the pork and beef mince with the round rice, savory, paprika, salt, and pepper.

Place a spoonful of the meat mixture onto a cabbage leaf and roll it tightly, tucking in the sides.

Repeat until all the mixture is used up.

In a large pot, layer the bottom with some sauerkraut and place the rolled sarma on top.

Pour the sauerkraut juice over the rolls and add the sliced smoked bacon on top.

Cover and cook on low heat for several hours until the rice is tender.
