1

Heat a pot on medium-high heat and add 1.5 tablespoons of cooking oil.

2

Add 1 tablespoon of sofrito to the pot.

3

Add 1 chicken bouillon cube (Maggie brand) to the sofrito and mix well.

4

Add chopped green bell pepper, celery, red onion, and cilantro to the sofrito mixture for extra flavor.

5

Add 1 drained can of black beans to the pot, including any black bean gum from the can.

6

Add 1 orange seasoning packet (Accent brand) and 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce to the mixture and mix well.

7

Add 2.5 cups of washed and cleaned long-grain white rice directly into the beans and mix thoroughly to avoid white spots.

8

Add 2.5 cups of water to the pot and mix everything well together.

9

Cover the pot and cook on high heat for 8 minutes, then set a timer.

10

After 8 minutes, check that the rice has absorbed all the liquid and remove large vegetables if desired.

11

Form a rice mountain in the pot and place cilantro on top for easy removal later.

12

Cover the pot with aluminum foil, lower the heat to low, and cook for 25 minutes, setting another timer.

13

After 25 minutes, check the rice, which should be perfectly cooked with crispy kung kong at the bottom.
