Bring 1 quart of water to a boil in a pot.

Add 2 cups of pasta to the boiling water and stir to prevent sticking.

Add salt to the water after the pasta is in.

While the pasta cooks, snap the stem ends off the green beans and chop them into 1-inch lengths.
