Beef Skewers in the Oven - The Best Beef Kabobs, no Matter the Weather!
Recipe Information
Beef Kabobs
Preheat the oven to 400°F.
Pour Italian salad dressing into a large Ziploc bag.
Trim away the skin, fat, and excess connective tissue from the Surline steak.
Cut the steak into uniform-sized chunks, approximately cubes.
Add the beef chunks into the Ziploc bag with the marinade and mush it around to coat.
Marinate the beef in the refrigerator for a minimum of 1 hour, up to 8 hours.
Soak bamboo skewers in water while preparing vegetables.
Cut the yellow onion into chunks.
Cut the yellow bell pepper into strips and then into squares.
Cut the red bell pepper into strips and then into squares.
Drain the marinated beef in a colander over a shallow bowl to remove excess marinade.
Remove soaked skewers from water and prepare to build skewers.
Thread a piece of beef onto the skewer, followed by a piece of red pepper, then yellow pepper, and repeat until the skewer is filled, adding a tomato or mushroom at the end.
Transfer the assembled skewers to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake the skewers in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes, checking the internal temperature.
Consider using the broiler at the end to finish cooking.
Check the internal temperature of the beef, aiming for 145°F for medium rare.
Cover the skewers with foil and let them rest for about 10 minutes before serving.
