In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
Add sour cream and lemon juice, mixing until well combined.
Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture over the brownie batter, then dollop the remaining brownie batter on top.
Use a knife to swirl the cream cheese mixture into the brownie batter, creating a marbled effect.
Sprinkle chocolate chips over the top if desired.
Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Allow to cool in the pan for at least 15 minutes before lifting out and slicing into squares.
