How to make applesauce muffins

Preheat the oven.

In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.

Stir in the vanilla and applesauce until combined.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and allspice.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Fold in the chopped nuts, leaving some big chunks and small ones.

Spoon the batter into muffin tins and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar on top.

Bake until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
