Boil water in a large pot for the noodles.
Fry 4-5 strips of bacon (about 5 ounces) until crispy.
Add about 3 tablespoons of butter to the bacon.
Chop up a small head of cabbage and add it to the skillet with the bacon and butter.
Chop a small onion and add it to the skillet with the cabbage.
Sauté the cabbage and onion together for about 15 minutes, stirring intermittently.
Add about 8 ounces of wide egg noodles to the boiling water and cook for 8-10 minutes according to package instructions.
Continue to sauté the cabbage and onion until soft, about another 5-10 minutes.
Drain the noodles, ensuring the water is well drained.
Combine the drained noodles with the sautéed cabbage, onion, and bacon in the skillet.
Cook everything together for another 3-4 minutes to allow the noodles to brown with the vegetables.
