Wash the head of cabbage and loosen the outer leaves, cutting them off the core.
Cook the rice with butter and salt until all the liquid is absorbed.
In a deep wide skillet, bring water to a simmer to steam the cabbage leaves until soft and pliable.
Cut out the tough part of the core from each cabbage leaf to make rolling easier.
Mix chopped onion, ground sirloin, MSG, rice, and beaten egg in a bowl to make the filling.
Roll the filling in the cabbage leaves, tucking in the sides and sealing them.
Add the rolls to the skillet with the remaining condensed tomato soup and a little water.
Bring to a simmer and cover, cooking for 45 minutes to an hour until the meat is fully cooked and the cabbage is tender.
