1/2 cup sugar
4 large egg yolks
1/2 cup Marsala wine

Cut fresh strawberries into small pieces and place them in a bowl.

Add a little sugar on top of the strawberries and mix them gently.

In a separate bowl, place a small amount of water to create a double boiler setup.

Separate the egg yolks from the egg whites, but only the yolks will be used for this recipe.

Whisk the egg yolks in the bowl and add a little sugar, mixing until the sugar dissolves.

Place the bowl with the egg yolks over the simmering water, whisking continuously until the mixture thickens, which takes about 6 minutes.
