How to Make Easy Homemade Tofu 2 ingredients!

Traditionally made from soybeans, tofu is celebrated for its versatility and ability to absorb flavors from spices and sauces. In India, it is often used in curries and stir-fries, making it a popular protein source for vegetarians. Homemade tofu allows for customization in texture and flavor, and it has gained popularity globally as a health-conscious alternative to meat.

- ●nigari
- ●salt
- ●lemon juice
- ●vinegar
- ●ginger
- ●garlic
- ●turmeric
- ●black pepper
- ●chili powder
- ●coriander
- ●cumin
- ●sesame oil
- ●green onions
Instructions
- 1Soak soybeans in water for 8 hours or overnight.
- 2Drain and rinse the soaked soybeans.
- 3Blend the soybeans with fresh water until smooth and creamy.
- 4Strain the blended mixture through a cheesecloth into a large pot to extract soy milk.
- 5Heat the soy milk over medium heat until it reaches a gentle boil, stirring occasionally.
- 6Dissolve nigari in a small amount of warm water.
- 7Remove the soy milk from heat and stir in the nigari solution gently.
- 8Let the mixture sit for 15-20 minutes to allow curds to form.
- 9Line a tofu mold or a small container with cheesecloth.
- 10Spoon the curds into the mold, pressing down to remove excess liquid.
- 11Fold the cheesecloth over the top of the curds and place a weight on top to press the tofu.
- 12Let the tofu sit for 30 minutes to firm up.
- 13Unwrap the tofu and cut into desired shapes.
- 14Store the tofu in water in the refrigerator, changing the water daily.
