Originating from Rwanda, Umugati w'Intungamubiri is a traditional bread enriched with various flours to boost nutritional value. It reflects the Rwandan emphasis on health and sustenance, often enjoyed during communal meals or special occasions. Today, this bread is celebrated not only in Rwanda but also in various African communities, adapting to local tastes and available ingredients.

Mix whole wheat flour, maize flour, sorghum flour, and baking powder in a large bowl.
Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water until frothy, about 5-10 minutes.
Add the yeast mixture to the flour mixture along with vegetable oil and milk powder.
Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth, about 10 minutes.
Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Shape the risen dough into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan.
Let the dough rise again for 30 minutes.
Brush the top with beaten eggs and sprinkle seeds on top.
Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, about 30-35 minutes.
Remove from the oven and let cool before slicing.
