Add 6 cups of water into a Dutch oven.
Sprinkle in 1 tablespoon of salt.
Retrieve frozen chicken parts from the freezer (spine, neck, giblets) and add them to the water.
Add bay leaves to the pot.
Bring the water to a boil and stir.
Reduce the heat to a simmer and let it simmer for a couple of hours until it reaches the desired density.
Remove the chicken parts (spine, neck, tail) and bay leaves from the pot.
Place a container in the kitchen sink and top it with a strainer.
Pour the liquid into the strainer to capture any loose chicken parts and discard them.
Return the strained chicken broth back into the pot.
Slice a head of cabbage and add it to the pot with the chicken broth.
