Cheesy Ground Chicken Pasta

8 oz penne pasta
1 lb ground chicken
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup marinara sauce
1/2 cup chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
2 tbsp olive oil
1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped (for garnish)

Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

Add minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.

Add the ground chicken to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.

Stir in the marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Let it simmer for 5 minutes.
