Homemade dough can be healthier and more flavorful.
Place 8 oz cream cheese into a medium microwave-safe bowl.
Microwave the cream cheese for 20 seconds to soften it.
Add 1/2 cup white granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon lemon juice, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract to the cream cheese.
Use an electric hand mixer to cream the mixture until well combined, about 30 to 45 seconds.
Take one tube of crescent roll dough and cut it into 16 pieces using a serrated knife, cutting each triangle in half and then cutting those in half again.
Place the cut pieces on a pan, leaving space between them.
Flatten each piece of dough with a cookie scoop or spoon, creating a small indentation in the center for the filling.
Melt 2 tablespoons of butter and brush it over the flattened dough pieces.
Divide the cream cheese mixture among the 16 pieces, using about 1 tablespoon for each.
Sprinkle 1/2 cup brown sugar over the cream cheese mixture on each piece.
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Bake the danishes in the oven for 16 to 18 minutes until golden brown.
Let the danishes sit for a few minutes to set the filling before removing them from the pans.
In a medium bowl, whisk together 1 cup powdered sugar and milk, adding the milk one tablespoon at a time until a drizzle consistency is reached.
Add 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract to the glaze and mix well.
Drizzle the glaze over the baked danishes before serving.
