1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon finely grated fresh ginger

Clean and cut the 5 large carrots into even pieces.

In a pot, add water and the carrots, setting the stove to medium-high heat.

Cook the carrots for about 5 minutes or until they are tender enough to stick a fork into them, but not too soft.

Drain the water from the carrots and set them aside.

In a different pot, on medium-high heat, add the 4 tablespoons of salted butter and 1 teaspoon of grated ginger, allowing them to melt together.

Once melted, add 1 tablespoon of brown sugar to the butter and ginger mixture.

Add the drained carrots to the pot with the butter, ginger, and brown sugar.

Turn the heat down to low and stir to coat the carrots in the mixture.

Let the carrots simmer for about 30 seconds to a minute to absorb the flavors.

Turn off the stove and add freshly chopped parsley on top before serving.
