Canola oil is more budget-friendly while still providing good cooking properties.
Boil water and add a good handful of salt to it for cooking the pasta.
Cook the detailini pasta until it's about three quarters done, then set it aside.
In a frying pan, heat olive oil over medium heat.
Add the chopped onion to the pan and sauté until translucent, about 3 minutes.
Add frozen peas to the sautéed onions along with a couple ladles of pasta water.
Stir the mixture and let it cook for 3-4 minutes to soften the peas.
Use a spider to drain the pasta while reserving the pasta water.
Add the cooked detailini pasta to the pan with the peas and onions.
Ladle in more pasta water to finish cooking the pasta and to create a sauce.
Taste the mixture and season with salt and pepper to preference.
Add a handful of parmesan cheese and stir to combine.
If the mixture gets too dry, add more pasta water as needed.
Serve the dish and add crushed red pepper to taste.
