Prepare the ingredients: cabe merah, cabe keriting, cabe rawit, terasi, gula merah, garam, gula pasir, air asam jawa, and air putih.
Peel and cut the nanas into pieces.
Peel and cut the pepaya into pieces.
Cut the bengkuang into pieces.
Cut the mentimun into pieces.
Wash all the cut fruits thoroughly and set them aside.
In a cobek, add cabe merah, cabe rawit, and terasi, then pound until smooth.
Pour water into a pot and bring it to a boil.
Once boiling, add the pounded mixture, stir briefly, then add gula pasir, gula merah, and garam, stirring again.
Finally, add air asam jawa, and if it’s not sour enough, you can add vinegar (though vinegar is not used in this recipe).
Let it boil for about half a minute, then turn off the heat and allow the mixture to cool completely.
Once cooled, strain the mixture over the fruit to avoid chili seeds getting in, and mix well.
