A French press is a cost-effective alternative for brewing.

Put on the shower screen, open the switch valve and pour 40 mL of water at 93°C. Let the coffee bloom for 40 seconds.

Drop the kettle temperature back to 88°C by adding room temperature water.

At 00.40, close the switch valve and pour up to 120 mL of target volume at 88°C with the shower screen. Wait until 01.20.

At 01.20, pour up to 220 mL of target volume at 88°C with the shower screen, still with the switch valve closed. Steep until 02.00.

At 02.00, open the switch valve and let all the water drain into the carafe.

The total brew time is around 02.30 - 03.00.
