Trim the ends of the green beans and rinse them under cold water.
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
Add the green beans to the boiling water and blanch for 3-4 minutes until they are bright green and tender-crisp.
Drain the green beans and immediately transfer them to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process.
In a large mixing bowl, combine 3 tablespoons of olive oil, 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, 2 minced garlic cloves, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper.
Add the blanched green beans to the mixing bowl and toss to coat evenly with the dressing.
Chop a handful of fresh herbs, such as parsley or dill, and sprinkle them over the green beans.
Add 1/4 cup of toasted nuts for crunch and toss gently to combine.
Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary before serving.
Serve chilled or at room temperature.
