Fermented Honey Garlic

Fermented honey garlic is a traditional remedy found in various cultures, known for its potential health benefits and unique flavor. The combination of garlic and honey has been used for centuries in folk medicine, believed to enhance immunity and provide antimicrobial properties. Today, this preparation is enjoyed globally, often used as a condiment or health tonic, reflecting a growing interest in fermentation and natural remedies.

Agave syrup is lower in calories and has a lower glycemic index.
Lightly crush and peel each clove of garlic.
Add the garlic cloves straight into a 16-ounce jar.
Pour honey into the jar to cover the garlic, leaving some headspace.
If the garlic cloves float to the top, poke them back in.
Cover the jar tightly with a lid.
Rotate the jar a couple of times a day to ensure the garlic is recoated in honey.
Open the jar every day or two to let out any built-up CO2.
Ferment for a month to allow the garlic to lose its bite.
Keep the jar at room temperature to allow flavors to develop.
