1

Start by introducing the recipe and ingredients.

2

Measure and prepare 1 pound of ground chicken.

3

Gather Thai basil, 2 large shallots, green onion, oyster sauce, fish sauce, soy sauce, white sugar, white pepper, minced ginger, hot water, Better Than Bouillon chicken base, 3 Thai chilies, and 4 cloves of garlic.

4

In a cup, mix 1/2 cup of hot water with 1/2 teaspoon of Better Than Bouillon chicken base, 2 teaspoons of white sugar, 1 1/2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 teaspoon of fish sauce, and 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce. Stir until the sugar dissolves and set aside.

5

Chop 3 Thai chilies, leaving some for garnish. Mince 4 cloves of garlic after removing the tips. Place garlic and chilies in a bowl.

6

Chop 2 large shallots until you have about 1/2 cup worth and place them in a separate bowl.

7

Prepare green onions by removing the bottoms, separating the whites from the greens, and chopping the greens roughly. Mince the whites and add them to the bowl with the shallots.

8

Wash and remove the stems from the Thai basil, then roughly chop it until you have about 1/2 cup.

9

Heat a wok and add avocado oil, adjusting the amount based on the meat used. Add shallots and the whites of the green onion, cooking until fragrant.

10

Add minced garlic and chopped chilies to the wok, then add 1 pound of ground chicken. Cook until the water evaporates and the meat starts to brown, stirring occasionally.

11

Once the water evaporates and the meat is browning, add the greens of the green onion and the chopped Thai basil. Toss everything together.

12

Pour the prepared sauce mixture into the wok, ensuring the heat is high. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until everything is well combined and the sauce thickens.

13

Add 1/2 teaspoon of MSG for flavor enhancement and taste to adjust seasoning if necessary. Optionally, a sugar replacement like monk fruit can be used instead of white sugar.

14

Plate the Thai basil chicken and serve it with white rice.
