In a large mixing bowl, combine the white flour, whole wheat flour, and salt.

In a separate bowl, dissolve the leavening in warm water and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.

Add the leavening mixture to the flour mixture and mix until a dough forms.

Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.

Preheat your oven to 220°C (428°F).

Punch down the risen dough and shape it into a round loaf.
