1

In a deep bowl, pour 700 ml of warm water.

2

Add 1 egg and 2 teaspoons of salt, and mix well.

3

Add olive oil and gradually add 1 kg of sifted flour while mixing to avoid a dense dough.

4

Knead the dough until it is slightly sticky but not overly floury.

5

Divide the dough into equal parts and roll each into a ball, letting them rest for at least 15 minutes covered with plastic wrap and a towel.

6

Prepare the filling by mixing 1 kg of cottage cheese with 3 eggs and a pinch of salt, optionally adding herbs.

7

Roll out each dough ball into a thin circle, about a few millimeters thick.

8

Place 2 tablespoons of filling in the center of each circle, leaving space at the edges.

9

Stretch the dough edges over the filling and seal well to form a plăcintă.

10

Heat oil in two skillets, enough to cover the bottom, and fry the plăcintă seam side down on medium heat under a lid until golden brown on one side, then flip and fry the other side.

11

Once cooked, place on paper towels and brush with butter while hot.
