Grease ramekins or a muffin pan with butter.
Melt dark chocolate and butter together in a bowl over simmering water, stirring until smooth.
In a separate bowl, whisk eggs, sugar, and vanilla extract until light and fluffy.
Fold the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture gently until combined.
Sift in flour and fold until just combined.
Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins or muffin pan.
Bake for 12-14 minutes until the edges are firm but the center is soft.
Remove from the oven and let sit for 1 minute.
Carefully invert each ramekin or muffin pan onto a plate and let it sit for a few seconds before lifting off.
