Cultural Context

Originating from Nigeria, fried yam chips are a popular street food enjoyed for their crispy texture and savory flavor. Traditionally served as a snack or side dish, they hold a special place in Nigerian cuisine, often accompanied by spicy dips or sauces. Today, they are loved beyond Nigeria, with variations found in many West African countries and even in fusion dishes worldwide.
