2 cups feta cheese, crumbled
1 cup ricotta cheese
1 cup Monterey Jack (or mozzarella), grated
1/2 an onion, grated
1/4 cup parsley, finely chopped
1 pinch of Aleppo pepper
1 egg, beaten
Nigella seeds, optional
1/4 cup canola oil
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 package of phyllo dough, defrosted

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a mixing bowl, combine the feta cheese, ricotta cheese, Monterey Jack cheese, grated onion, chopped parsley, Aleppo pepper, and beaten egg. Mix well.

Lay out a sheet of phyllo dough and brush it with the combined melted canola oil and butter.

Place another sheet of phyllo dough on top and brush again with the oil and butter mixture.

Spoon some of the cheese mixture onto the phyllo dough and fold it over to create a triangle or roll it up as desired.

Repeat the process until all the filling is used up.

Place the prepared boereg on a baking sheet and brush the tops with more of the oil and butter mixture.

Sprinkle with Nigella seeds if using.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
