Wash the maize until the water is clear.

Soak the maize for around 15 minutes.

Transfer to a pressure cooker, add 2 cups of water and a little bit of salt, and cook on high flame for 20 minutes until tender.

In a separate pan over medium flame, add cooking oil.

Add chopped onions, garlic, and ginger; cook until soft.

Add chopped carrots, paprika, turmeric, garlic powder, and cumin; stir in and cook.

Add chopped tomatoes and a dash of tomato paste with a little water to help them cook.

Once the tomatoes are cooked, add the cooked maize and kidney beans to the pan.

Add half a cup of water, stir, and let simmer on low for around 5 minutes.
