Today, Stollen is cherished not only in Germany but has also found a place in holiday traditions around the world, inspiring various adaptations and flavors.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
Add hot water to the raisins and set them aside.
Zest a lemon to get about 1 tablespoon of zest.
Add baking powder and cinnamon to the flour and blend well.
Beat the soft butter until creamy, then mix in the sugar until well combined.
Add quark or Greek yogurt, rum, vanilla extract, and lemon zest, and mix everything well.
Sift the flour mixture on top and blend briefly.
Add chopped nuts and drained raisins, then knead until well combined and the dough is ready to shape.
Shape the dough into small loaves or flatten and fold for the original stollen shape.
Alternatively, use a spoon to add the typical stollen line to the dough.
Place the shaped dough on the parchment-lined baking sheet and brush generously with butter.
Bake for about 10 to 15 minutes, until golden brown on the bottom.
Allow the mini stollen to cool for 5 to 10 minutes after baking.
Melt some butter and brush it over the warm stollen.
Sprinkle generously with powdered sugar.
Store in an airtight container or cookie tin and allow to rest for at least one day before consumption.
