Lithuanian Potato Pie

Peel and wash white potatoes.

Use the largest holes on a box grater to shred potatoes.

Add 1 egg, salt, ground black pepper, and ground nutmeg to the shredded potatoes and mix gently to combine.

Preheat cooking oil in a cast iron skillet.

Add the shredded potato mixture (about 1.5 inches thick) to the skillet.

Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook on low heat for about 15 minutes until golden brown.

Cut the pie into 4 pieces and flip each piece to cook the other side.

Add cooking oil if needed and cook the other side on low heat for another 10 minutes, uncovered.

Serve hot with a dollop of sour cream.
