1

In a large bowl, whip the egg whites with cream of tartar until foamy, then gradually add 40 g of sugar and whip until stiff peaks form.

2

In another bowl, mix the egg yolks, 40 g of sugar, vanilla, and milk until foamy.

3

Add flour, baking powder, and cornstarch to the yolk mixture and mix until just combined.

4

Fold the egg yolk mixture into the whipped egg whites until well combined.

5

Pour the batter into a greased 20x20 cm cake pan and tap to remove air bubbles.

6

Bake in a preheated oven at 160°C for about 20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

7

Let the cake cool slightly, then remove it from the pan and cool completely.

8

Prepare the milk bath by combining whole milk, sweetened condensed milk, and whipping cream in a saucepan over low heat for about 2 minutes.

9

Poke holes in the cooled cake and pour the milk bath over it.

10

Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.

11

Whip the whipping cream until medium-stiff peaks form and spread over the top of the cake.
