Servings4
1 cup warm milk
2 tablespoons melted butter
1 tablespoon sugar
2 teaspoons instant dry yeast
1/3 cup rainbow sprinkles
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
4 cups water
1/4 cup baking soda
1/4 cup melted butter (for brushing)
1/2 cup cream cheese (softened)
1/4 cup butter (softened)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1

In a large bowl, whisk together warm milk, instant dry yeast, sugar, melted butter, and vanilla extract.

2

Add 1 cup of flour and salt to the mixture and slowly mix in the remaining flour with a spatula until the dough starts to form.

3

Add 1/3 cup of rainbow sprinkles and mix them into the dough.

4

Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.

5

Form the dough into a smooth ball and place it into a bowl coated with vegetable oil, rolling it to coat.

6

Cover the bowl with a towel and place it in a warm draft-free area to rise for about 20 to 30 minutes.

7

Punch the air out of the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces using a pizza cutter or sharp knife.

8

Stretch each piece of dough into a long rope and cut each rope into six bite-sized pieces.

9

Bring 4 cups of water to a boil and add 1/4 cup of baking soda.

10

Using a slotted spoon, drop a few pretzel bites into the boiling water for about 20 to 30 seconds, then lift them out and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

11

Brush the pretzel bites with melted butter before baking.

12

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit and bake the pretzel bites for about 8 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.

13

While the pretzel bites are baking, prepare the cream cheese dipping sauce by beating together softened cream cheese and butter until smooth.

14

Add vanilla extract and powdered sugar to the cream cheese mixture and beat until creamy, adding a little milk to thin it out if necessary.

15

In a separate bowl, whisk together white sugar, cinnamon, and more sprinkles for the cinnamon sugar coating.

16

Once the pretzel bites are out of the oven, dip them in melted butter and then toss them in the cinnamon sugar mixture until evenly coated.
