Almond butter is lower in sugar, while sunflower seed butter is often cheaper.

Add 9 cups of rice chex mix or crispex to a large bowl.

In a saucepan on medium temperature, add unsalted cubed butter and stir until completely melted.

Add semi-sweet chocolate chips to the melted butter and continue stirring until mostly melted.

Add creamy peanut butter to the chocolate mixture and stir until completely mixed in.

Optional: Stir in vanilla extract to the chocolate mixture for added flavor.

Pour the chocolate mixture over the chex cereal, covering the top layer.

Use a spatula to fold the chocolate into the cereal until all of the chex is covered with chocolate.

Make sure to cover any chex at the bottom of the bowl with chocolate.

Pour the chex into a large resealable plastic bag and add confectioners sugar.

Seal the bag completely and shake until all of the chex is covered with confectioners sugar.

Optional: Skip the bag method and add confectioners sugar directly to the chex in the bowl, adding more if needed.
