Add 1 cup of granulated sugar to a pan to make caramel, being careful not to burn it.
Once the caramel is done, quickly pour it into the baking pan.
In a blender, combine 1 can of evaporated milk, 1 can of condensed milk, 3 large eggs, 1/2 cup pumpkin puree, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, 1 pinch salt, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon.
Blend the ingredients until well mixed.
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Pour the blended mixture into the baking pan over the caramel.
Prepare a larger pan with hot water from the faucet to create a water bath.
Place the baking pan with the flan into the larger pan with water and cover it.
Bake in the oven for 1 to 2 hours, checking for doneness by inserting a toothpick or butter knife; it should come out clean.
Remove the baking pan from the water bath and let it cool on the counter.
Once cooled, run a butter knife around the edges to help release the flan before flipping it over.
