Instructions
- 1Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- 2In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the sugar until it turns golden brown, stirring constantly to prevent burning.
- 3Pour the melted sugar into a round baking dish, tilting to coat the bottom evenly. Set aside to cool and harden.
- 4In a mixing bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Blend until smooth.
- 5Pour the pumpkin mixture over the hardened caramel in the baking dish.
- 6Place the baking dish in a larger baking pan and fill the outer pan with hot water until it reaches halfway up the sides of the flan dish.
- 7Bake in the preheated oven for about 50-60 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
- 8Remove from the oven and let it cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- 9To serve, run a knife around the edges of the flan, invert onto a serving plate, and enjoy.
