Instructions

  1. 1Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. 2In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the sugar until it turns golden brown, stirring constantly to prevent burning.
  3. 3Pour the melted sugar into a round baking dish, tilting to coat the bottom evenly. Set aside to cool and harden.
  4. 4In a mixing bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Blend until smooth.
  5. 5Pour the pumpkin mixture over the hardened caramel in the baking dish.
