Their popularity has spread globally, inspiring variations and adaptations in many cultures, making them a favorite in dim sum restaurants worldwide.

Heat a non-stick pan on medium heat and add enough neutral oil to coat the bottom.
When the oil is hot, arrange the frozen dumplings in the pan.
Let sit about 1 minute or so until the bottoms get crispy.
Add about 1/3 cup of water to the pan and immediately cover with a lid.
Let them steam for about 8 to 10 minutes until the water has evaporated.
Remove the lid and let the dumplings crisp up for another 1 to 2 minutes.
For the dipping sauce, mix soy sauce, Chinese black vinegar, and a generous portion of chili oil.
Bring a pot of water to a boil for the boiling method.
Carefully drop in the frozen dumplings, stirring gently to prevent sticking.
Keep 2/3 a cup of cold water nearby.
When the water returns to a boil, add 1/4 cup of the cold water to stop the boiling and stir occasionally.
When the water returns to a boil, repeat this process two more times.
Once the dumplings float to the top, they're done.
Scoop them out with a slotted spoon and serve with a dipping sauce of soy sauce, black vinegar, sesame oil, chili oil, chopped green onion, and minced garlic.
For the steaming method, add the frozen dumplings to a lined steamer basket.
Place the basket over boiling water and cover with a lid.
Steam for 10 to 12 minutes until the dumplings are hot and juicy inside.
For the dipping sauce, mix Chinese black vinegar, a bit of sugar, and ginger.
