Drain 2 cans of fruit cocktail. Do not drain the 3rd can.

Mix the fruit cocktail and put it in the dish, spreading it evenly.

Sprinkle the dry cake mix over the fruit, covering it completely.

Spoon melted 1 stick of butter over the cake mix, covering as much as possible.

Take 1/2 stick of butter and cut into thin pats, placing over any dry cake mix.

Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes until the top is golden brown.
