In a pan, combine milk and butter, then add the chopped green onions to soften them.
Once the potatoes are fork tender, drain them and return them to the pot to dry out.
Mash the potatoes with a masher, leaving some texture.
Add butter, boiled cabbage, and the onion-milk mixture to the mashed potatoes and mix well.
In a skillet, cook pieces of ham until they are slightly browned.
Prepare soft-boiled eggs by boiling them in water with a splash of vinegar for 5 minutes, then cool them in cold water.
Peel the soft-boiled eggs gently.
Combine the ham with the mashed potato mixture and serve with the soft-boiled eggs on top.
