Baked Egg Custard

1 tablespoon caster sugar
320 ml readymade custard
nutmeg

Blind bake the shop bought short crust pastry.

In a bowl, whisk together 2 eggs and 1 tablespoon of caster sugar.

Add 320 ml of readymade custard to the egg mixture and whisk until combined.

Pour the mixture into the blind baked pastry shell.

Grate nutmeg on top of the custard mixture.

Place the tart in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 30 to 35 minutes.

Check if the tart is done by ensuring there is a little jiggle left in the center.

Once cooked, remove from the oven and let it cool.

Optionally, refrigerate until cold before serving.

Cut into the tart and serve with whipped cream and a sprinkle of nutmeg.
