4 servings
Servings4
6 medium apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
1/2 cup water
1 tsp cinnamon (optional)

Quantities are estimated based on standard recipes for your convenience. The actual ingredients used in this video are accurate.

1

Pick apples and store them in a brown bag in the refrigerator.

2

Use a giant soup stock pot for making applesauce.

3

Use an applesauce strainer or a blender to blend the apples.

4

Do not core or peel the apples before cooking.

5

Cut off any bad spots on the apples before adding them to the pot.

6

Fill the pot with apples until it's full, cutting any bad parts off as needed.

7

Put the lid on the pot and boil for about 10 minutes until the apples are mushy.

8

Add a lot of cinnamon to the pot; sugar or honey can be added later if desired.

9

Check the apples after 10 minutes; they should be mushy enough for a fork to go in and out easily.

10

If not ready, boil for an additional 5 minutes and check again.

11

Once ready, turn off the heat and let the pot cool down.

12

After cooling slightly, use an applesauce maker to process the apples.

13

Use a ladle to transfer the apples and water into the applesauce maker.

14

Press the apples through the strainer to separate the skins and seeds from the sauce.

15

Stir the applesauce and add more cinnamon if desired.

16

Store the applesauce in the refrigerator or freezer for later use.
