Each region boasts its own variations, from meat-based to vegetarian versions, making it a versatile dish cherished worldwide.

Boil water in a large pot.
Add vegetables: celeriac, parsnip, carrots, onion, and bay leaves, along with beef seasoned with salt.
Slow cook for 3 hours until the beef is tender.
Remove the beef and set aside; drain the soup.
Bring the soup back to a boil and add carrots, beetroot, and potatoes; boil until vegetables are tender (about 40 minutes).
Coarsely shred the beetroot and carrots.
Add shredded vegetables, onion, cabbage, and diced beef back into the soup.
Mix in sugar and tomato paste; cook for an additional 10 minutes.
For flatbread, mix flour, water, oil, sugar, and salt; knead and let sit for 30 minutes.
Divide dough and flatten pieces.
Cook flatbread in a skillet over low temperature until done.
