Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
In a bowl, mix warm plant-based milk with sugar and yeast; let it sit until frothy, about 5-10 minutes.
In a separate bowl, combine flour, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon.
Add the yeast mixture and melted coconut oil to the dry ingredients; mix until a dough forms.
Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
Once risen, punch down the dough and divide it into equal portions.
Shape each portion into a bun and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Cover the buns and let them rise again for 30 minutes.
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
Remove from the oven and let cool on a wire rack.
Once cooled, spread fruit jam on top and sprinkle with powdered sugar and almond flakes.
