1 cup grits
1 cup milk
1 cup half & half
1/2 tsp salt
black pepper to taste
1/2 tsp paprika
2 tbsp butter

In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.

Add 1/2 tsp of salt to the boiling water.

Gradually whisk in 1 cup of grits, stirring constantly to prevent lumps.

Reduce heat to low and cover the saucepan.

Cook for about 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the grits are thick and creamy.

Stir in 1 cup of milk and 1 cup of half & half until well combined.

If using, stir in 2 tbsp of butter until melted and well combined.

Season with black pepper and paprika to taste.
