Cocoa powder is less expensive and can mimic chocolate flavor.

Make chocolate powder by blending 1/4 cup almond flour, 5 tablespoons piloncillo, 2 teaspoons cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg, and 1/2 teaspoon salt in a food processor until it becomes a powder.

In a pot, add 3 cups of milk and 1/4 cup masa harina.

Heat the mixture at medium or medium-high temperature until it starts to thicken.

Remove from heat and add 1/2 cup of the chocolate mix and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.

Stir until the chocolate melts and the mixture is well combined.

Pour into a cup and serve.
