Homemade Croutons

1 pound loaf of bread (about 455 g)
4 tbsp salted butter
1/4 cup olive oil
1 tsp salt
2 tsp granulated garlic powder
2 heaping tsp dried oregano
freshly cracked black pepper

Cut the loaf of bread in half lengthwise, then cut into strips and dice into medium-sized pieces.

Transfer the diced bread to a large mixing bowl.

Melt 4 tbsp of salted butter and add 1/4 cup of olive oil to the bowl with the bread.

Season the bread with 1 tsp of salt, 2 tsp of granulated garlic powder, and 2 heaping tsp of dried oregano.

Toss the bread cubes with your hands to coat them evenly with the mixture.

Transfer the coated bread cubes to a baking tray in an even layer.
