3/4 cup lentils
3/4 cup uncooked rice
1 cup elbow macaroni
2 onions
2 large cloves of garlic
1 can diced tomatoes (15 oz)
4 teaspoons red pepper flakes

Combine the lentils in about 4 cups of water, bring it to a boil, then simmer for 25 minutes.

Add the rice to the lentils and simmer for another 20 minutes until the rice is tender.

Boil the macaroni for about 8 minutes and drain.

Meanwhile, heat a couple tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Add the onion and garlic and cook until soft and slightly brown.

Pour in the diced tomatoes, stir, and season with salt and pepper. Let simmer for about 20 minutes.
