Coconut oil is a healthier fat alternative.

Melt butter in a large saucepan over low heat.

Add marshmallows to the melted butter and stir until completely melted and smooth.

Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and salt.

Add Trix cereal to the marshmallow mixture and mix until well coated.

Grease a baking dish with butter or cooking spray.

Press the cereal mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.

Allow to cool at room temperature until set, about 30 minutes.

Cut into squares or bars and serve.
