Ground turkey is leaner, while ground pork is often less expensive.
Chop half a green pepper into really small pieces.
In a mixing bowl, add 1.73 pounds of ground beef that is fully thawed.
Add the chopped green peppers to the ground beef.
Add 2 tablespoons of minced garlic juice and 1 tablespoon of minced garlic to the bowl.
Add about 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 tablespoon of black pepper.
Add 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce and 2 tablespoons of liquid smoke.
Add 1 large egg and 1 cup of bread crumbs to the mixture.
Blend the ingredients together gently to avoid changing the texture of the hamburger.
Shape the mixture into burger patties that are about 4 inches wide and 4 inches long.
Preheat the grill for cooking the burgers.
Place the burger patties on the grill and press them down to get grill lines.
Cook the burgers for about 10-15 minutes on each side, closing the lid to cook faster.
Flip the burgers and check for grill lines; they should look nice and crispy.
Add cheese on top of the burgers along with grilled onions when they are almost done.
Grill the tomatoes along with the burgers if desired.
Close the lid and let the cheese melt and the onions and tomatoes cook.
