Cut each plantain in diagonal slices, around 1 to 1.5 inches thick.

Heat oil to around 360-375 degrees F.

4

Fry the plantain until they're a light golden colour, around 3-5 minutes.

5

Remove the plantain from the oil and drain on paper towel lined plate.

Keep oil on stove, do not turn off heat.

Once the fried plantains are cool enough to touch, sandwich a piece of plantain between two sheets of parchment paper and use a can to flatten the plantain.

Place the flattened piece of plantain back into the oil, fry for 5-6 minutes or until the outside is crispy.

9

Remove from oil and drain on paper-lined plate.
